Santiago Bueno has joined Club América on loan for the 2026-27 season, with the Mexican club holding an option to finalize a permanent transfer. The move follows a period of limited playing time for Bueno, who remained an unused substitute in four Championship games since his return from the World Cup.
Technical director Matt Jackson confirmed that Bueno’s omission from the squad was due to the 25-man roster limit, a constraint that took effect after the transfer window had closed. Despite his limited game time, Bueno contributed four goals in the 2025-26 season, including performances in Premier League draws against Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland.
