Guernsey Expands DrinkSeal Distribution Amid Spiking Reports

Guernsey has ordered 7,500 DrinkSeals since 2024, with funding partially provided by the Health Improvement Commission. The initiative aims to prevent drink spiking incidents, which have been monitored by local authorities.

Police in Guernsey recorded 140 reports of suspected drink spiking between 2019 and 2025, though no cases have been formally confirmed. The ongoing distribution of DrinkSeals reflects a continued focus on public safety despite the lack of verified incidents.

The DrinkSeals are distributed free of charge through the Choices Contraceptive and Sexual Health Service, ensuring accessibility for residents. Additional seals were funded by the Sure Community Foundation for initial distribution at Channel Island Pride events.
