Arsenal are in advanced discussions to sign an England international striker in a January swap deal, with Viktor Gyokeres potentially moving to the Saudi Pro League as part of the deal. Gyokeres joined Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon last summer for around £64m but has struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup.
Gyokeres had a mixed debut season and is currently behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order. Havertz has made a sensational start to this season and provides a great foil for Arsenal’s other attackers, scoring and assisting in Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
Gyokeres made his first appearance of the Premier League season as a substitute during Sunday’s match against Chelsea, but his brief cameo did not change his standing in the team hierarchy.
Jamie Carragher believes Gyokeres has no chance of replacing Havertz in the starting lineup and warns him to accept his new understudy role.
